What is a home made by hand?

It's a refuge from a chaotic and unpredictable world, a place of solace and comfort. It is where the lost art of self-sufficiency still resides and where hard work, dirt under the fingernails, and knowledge of how things used to be are still respected. It's getting back to how our ancestors took care of their families and the land, it's re-learning what makes a family strong and content with what they have (and don't have), it's teaching children to be responsible, independent, and kind.

We are learning as we go along to change the way we think, eat, play, learn, spend, save, prepare, heal, grow, and create. My hope is that you will find what you are looking for here as well...
